Since he was a very young man, Tom Nelson has been obsessed with the world of archery and the sport of bowhunting. As a teenager, Tom would ride his bike to Anderson Archery and immerse himself in the stories told in that famous shop.
Over 20 years, Tom would elevate from humble beginnings while sweeping floors at Anderson Archery to becoming the Sales Manager. Some of his most fond memories are selling countless customers their first bow, meeting many manufacturer’s sales reps who would become dear friends and rubbing elbows with industry icons such as Fred Bear, Pete Shepley and M.R. James.
In 1996, Tom was approached by Wolf Creek Productions to host an all archery and bowhunting show on Outdoor Channel. Although the network was only a couple years old at the time, he agreed to give it a shot.
27 years and well over 450 episodes later, Tom and the American Archer® television series have recieved numerous awards and accolades, including multiple Golden Moose Awards.
Tom also enjoys writing and has penned over 300 articles published in numerous magazines such as Bowhunter, Western Bowhunter, Hunting The West and Safari.
